Ormsgill Borough Councillor Steve Forbes said to the Evening Mail: ‘This shows that all kids from all races and creeds can play together’

Hundreds supported multiculturalism in the two ‘Kick Racism Out Of Football’ events organised by the Furness Multicultural Community Forum in partnership with Barrow AFC. These events were supported by the Football Foundation, Inside Out Soccer Schools, Unite Against Fascism, UNISON, GMB, PCS, Cumbria Police, Cumbria County Council, Barrow Borough Council, Barrow Dads group, Sure Start and others. Children and adults of Furness, members of Barrow AFC and other partners as well as the Barrow mayor were greeted and welcomed by members of our Forum. Filipino and Thai members of the Forum presented traditional dances and food tasting from their countries for all the guests. Previous activities held in schools culminated in prizes given out to school pupils for best designed posters to promote anti-racism.
